CPT (Curricular Practical Training) and OPT (Optional Practical Training)
For 10 years at The Walt Disney Company, Prof. Newton Lee has personally hired and supervised 50 student interns in animation, graphic design, software development, game music, and business marketing.
Since then, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) has placed hundreds of interns and trainees from all over the world at U.S. companies with tremendous success benefiting both the international employees and the host companies.
We work with thousands of host organizations located in vibrant American cities including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Atlanta, Austin, Huston, Miami, and many more as well as other countries in Asia and Europe.
Some of the host organizations include the American Film Institute, Georgia Tech, Harvard University, Lucasfilm (Singapore and USA), MIT Media Lab, Motorola, NBC Universal, UCLA, USC, Virginia Tech, The Walt Disney Company, and Fortune 500 companies.
CPT (Curricular Practical Training) and OPT (Optional Practical Training)
CPT and OPT are for international students and graduates in the United States to obtain practical training in their fields of study.
CPT Eligibility
You are eligible for a CPT internship if you are currently a full-time university student in the United States.
OPT Eligibility
You are eligible for an OPT internship if you have graduated from a university in the United States.

Most companies accept CPT and OPT interns all year round. You must be at least 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.
