J-1 Teaching
For more than 20 years, Prof. Newton Lee has taught classes and given lectures at many schools and universities including California State University Northridge, Emily Carr University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, San Diego State University, San Jose State University, Simon Fraser University, University of Southern California, Vincennes University, and Woodbury University.
Since then, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) has placed international teachers from all over the world to teach kindergarten, primary, secondary, high school, community colleges, and universities in the United States.
J-1 Teaching Application
J-1 Teaching Eligibility
You are eligible to teach in the U.S. for up to 5 years if:
1. You are currently a teacher in your home country, or
2. You have an advanced degree within the past 12 months in either education or in the academic subject field in which you intend to teach.
AND
1. You have at least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in the past 8 years, and
2. You have at least a Bachelor's degree in either education or in the academic subject field in which you intend to teach, and
3. You are proficient in English.

Schools are hiring teachers for the new academic year starting in August. You must be at least 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.
